Do we get paid anything if our logo is picked?
I'm working on different color variations on this - I'm not sure if the blue I chose here really captures the essence, the true feel of what I was going for...
I think I'll try a hot pink.
Also, if any illustrators are interested in continued development of this concept, I really don't think I really caught the "look of rapture" I was looking for here.
But other than that, it should be ready for production.

I have to agree that this is pretty damn good.

I decided to go very, very simple for several reasons -

Circle -  represents our community as a whole

Joomla! in the circle - means that as a community we are protected as the circle is one of the strongest structural shapes

Joomla! Fonts - Arial Narrow a nice, clean & simple font for what Joomla! CMS is all about.

Colors - 2 colors so the Joomla! logo could be offered in several different colors to suit the branding of a developed site.

I'm no artist at all, but if people want to point out the "togetherness" thing, a sans-serif capital J is a dead ringer for an umbrella handle.

Contributions of designs should be like the contributions of code

Free! - with no strings attached - other than the honour of knowing that something you created is being used and admired around the world

Thanks, danialt - here we go with a reverse of the original concept - where we've replaced the blue with a hot pink - it would require that the main site be redone in pink, but I think that's do-able.
I think I also mis-spelled "come" - but not sure? I'm not native Swahilian.

Note from Brian - we really dont need this sort of imagery. Its not big and its not clever - image removed

Stick figures in rapturous poses NOT clever? What's the world coming to?
Sorry, I'm childish - had to get in the first "come together" joke.
It won't happen again.

honestly i would suggest something exotic, like using palm trees and a coconut for the "oo" i don't think i can develop one as i am a bit busy. But the exotic feel would work with it.

Again. I think the font's to googley so I'm gonna shoot for the same idea but more squared edge's like VaVroom suggested.

I really like this one.

What do you think about trying one without the tail on the exclamation point?
Just the vertical stroke.
No need to be symmetrical. May even be more interesting.
This would also push the insides to the right a little. Joomla! to the left.
Have you already tried this?
If you are like me you have already done 50 previous.

I really like this one.

Yes, this is very nice. It has a taoist (yin/yang) undertone which might provide additional symbolism to the branding.

ah well - I don't know how we can go about calling ourselves "open source" when we can't respect the arts :)

in protest, I'm starting a fork - but because its MAIN feature will be stick people FREE to engage in carnal acts, we'll just call it a spoon.

sorry to disrupt the flow - so much for true art, back to those darned "graphic artists".

tsk tsk :)
