Though, if the "mob" decides that way, we could use a Beatle song as our hymn
Some people will just see it as a word. And since when is redundancy in establishing a brand a bad idea.
The beatles song would be very cool.
Or how about this.

Joomla! Collective Intelligence.
Why? Collective Intelligence can mean two things - the collective, intelligent way the community biulds the project AND the CMS is a method of collectiing the knowledge/intelligence of an organisation and managing it in one place.
Could even add "System" to it, which would create a nifty acronymn reminiscent of some popular US TV shows (JCIS) LOL

Redundancy is not per se a bad thing. The thing is, in this case, I really think we shouldn't go with "all together now" or other variations of "community", or "togetherness". That concept is already implied in the name.
I think we'll have a hard enough time "selling" Joomla! to businesses just because of the name. I can see it from here, they won't take the product seriously with this name. Adding a slogan that is "touchey feeley" and emotional (as a reaction justifiable reaction to what Miro did to us), will not help things.
Yes, the community is important. Yes, without it there is no CMS, and I think it's important to recognise that. This is done through the name. The slogan (and who's to say there should be only one anyway?) should be attractive and meaningful in a few years time when the "hoopla" of the split has quieted down and people either don't remember, or never knew it happened (but I've already said that in this thread elsewhere)
My 2 cents.

Now, that's a good way to bring in the community without bringing the "touchey feeley" impression to it.

I'm sorry guilliam, but that also brings a very touchey feely impression, that will be meaningless to the vast majority of people. Those of us who are involved understand where it comes from. Joe Q Business user won't have a clue, and will see that and may very well think "*#&&@^ Socialists, I'm not touching that system" (ok, I exagerate a bit, but probably not that much). It's already hard to convince clients to use a CMS that is free (because they think if it's free software, it not serious/good/trustworthy software).

I think this is an idea that we really need to think seriously about.
Open source matters to the almost 3,000 that are here. It matters to everybody who is actively working with Open Source projects.
However, in terms of potential market (and it's still a "market" whether there is money exchanged or not) those of us within OS communities are very much the minority.
Open source matters to us - but to everyone else, I doubt if they give a fig whether a project is open source or not, as long as they get a free product. For businesses, on the other hand, open source has some real work ahead of it to be accepted as both quality and competition for commercial product. OS is gaining ground in business and government markets, but not because of any appreciation that there is a community driving the OS projects.

It's really nice to see him agreeing with me - and I now have it in print (well, screen LOL) - and to think I thought he was actually working, instead of hanging around here!
If you want to brainstorm some ideas about your new company name, just drop me a PM. I'm doing anything I can to avoid settling down to work right now and would be happy to give feedback on names.

Yunno elpie this really makes sense. The real slogan has been staring us right in the face for the past couple of weeks. Glad I thought of it

joomla! - "Say it how you want!"
Explains what it does (ie web content etc) and that they can customise and adapt it to how they best see fit!
We dont need to tell them it's free, if it is good then they would pay for it anyway, so lets get them hooked on a great product, then surprise them and make it better by not charging for it.
We dont need to tell them its Open Source - many people may overlook the product too quickly if they dont understand what open source is about and may just think it is cheap "freeware" without checking it out first
It doesn't have to be about the community - like many people have said before, that is implied in the name, and you dont want to make it sound too "fluffy" - after all, the only way that joomla will attract all of the mambo users (and new ones) is by appealing to a broad market (including corporate ones)
Look at microsoft - Where do you want to go today? Playful, but means business! Work or play, you can adapt it to the situation?

Wasn't it the little people (munchkins?) from the Wizard of Oz? Hmmm...
If I haven't got my childhood movies confused, then I would think that "oompa, loompa" might be more suited to be used elsewhere. The delusions of grandeur suffered by that poor old Wizard of Oz kinda remind me of a similarly deluded Australian.

I am a web developer and started using Mambo last year. I now use it exclusively. I think I will like the name "Joomla" better. That being said, how about keeping the slogan as close to the original "Power in Simplicity" as possible? How about:
Joomla! Simply Powerful.

I like that last one. Variations on the "period-ed" slogan...
Joomla! Power. Content. Simple.
Joomla! Create. Publish. Manage.
Joomla! Real. Comfortable. CMS. (apologies to Wrangler.)
Can't think of more right now.
