Doh-eth.. Of all the places to get, especially since there's more than a few bars that offer free wifi capability across the CBD.. you have to get a bar that's vendor locked.
Wifi hotspots for all major capitals.

You don't have to attend
Besides, why do you need wifi during the meet-up anyway? I'll have one machine of mine there online if there is anything we need it for (event wise).
Thanks for your appreciation of the hard work of Robyn and Russ to arrange this for us. Will anything we do ever satisfy you Lawrence? Anyway, lets not take this important thread off topic.

Because I'll be unveiling one of the J! products I've been working on as part of the meet. Sure, all it really is changing is a .htaccess file, but I still require access (and that's where my setup comes in - I don't want to rely on another user just to squirt the bird).

Why not just run it locally by installing a AMP server on your PC?

It's already partway live, sitting on a domain somewhere.. which is entirely the point. It's the first gen social networking / AMS app I've been working on that integrates cross J! products. Not much use for a social networking app if it's just locked (as a demo) onto my machine..

PLEASE can we keep this thread on topic. The venue is decided, either don't attend, or stop complaining. Any more off topic posts will be removed.

Joomladay in Melbourne..nice! I would definitely drop by if it was during the weekend or late in the arvo. I am no expert but would definitely like to meet some of you "experts" and "pros" and maybe hook up with a mentor.
I would like to know about Melbourne Joomladay #2 if it happens.
Cheers,

RSVP - Yes, I will attend.
Hey,
Good news - I can now come. Have asked for the time off work and my office is on the corner of Queen and Flinders Lane so easy for me to come along.
Looking forward to meet and greet and Q&A.
