Over 20,000 downloads in the first day ain't too bad either.  I'd say there's some tepid interest out there ;)

Nope not forgotten, code will be reviewed and improved where possible, once that's done it will be added as far as I know. I  don't know any more details though.

 Congratulations!

I am proud of being author of more or less FOUR lines of code of the Joomla! 1.5

Yeah... ain´t much, but 1 million lines is made of a bunch of 1 lines... isn´t it?

Joomla! Team, Core Developers, Working Groups Managers, Doc Team, and everyone else... Thank you very much for the awaken nights, and tireless effort! What I most like in Joomla! is, in fact, its community and its "LET´S HELP EACH OTHER" spirit....

With Joomla! 1.5 we will build amazing sites which will spread the LOVE, SHARING, and JOY of HELPING that, in the end, will CHANGE THE WORLD in an INTEGRATED AND PEACEFUL COMMUNITY of ENLIGHTENED PEOPLE! WOW!!!

Thank you.  :)

Fantastic job guys.  Well done... but I am curious.

How exactly did the decision come about to confirm a gold release?  Was it simply a a bug tracker option? a Eureka moment by a guru? a group discussion by phone? a dove on the window ledge?  Looking at the fix list I can't see what was the pivotal item that turned you gold?  Just curious how the upper echelons of Joomla work.

Any ways very well done!

Cheers

We classify the bugs in the Tracker in a particular way.  Our condition for Gold release was that we had dealt with Very High and High Priority items.  These are issues that, among other things, prevent you from using Joomla! (like, it dies), throw PHP errors, or impedes proper use (like you can't install an extension, you can't use an extension on a particular page, etc).  It means there are still bugs that could well be annoying (like a parameter not working, and so on), but overall the software "works" well enough for it to be usable by the majority of people.

I remember trying to select the right CMS for me a year ago. I chose Joomla. This release gives me a large *sigh* of release- as I know I chose the right one.

Congrats to the Joomla Development team. I for one, could not dedicate myself as you all have- and for a non-salary type project as large as this. This release could not have been done without maintaining active engagement and fortitude. It truly speaks volumes of Joomla as a whole.
