Anyway, for time by now, the joomla dualCORE 1.0 doesent mean anything....

I read documentation, and i think it aint as easy as it was to make dual core of mambo and joomla...

BTW: Im closing all support and feture/bug request to joomla dualCORE 1.0...

BTW2: If it will be possible to do joomla 1.0.11 and joomla 1.5 mixed to gether (core1.php and core2.php and corewhat.php wich sees if component would run better on joomla or mambo core) then i will add automatic core updates! No more need to download core updates sepertly...

BTW3: Anybody intrested to joomla cores mixed together?

BTW4: its 15:57 @ estonia....

I haven't made a whole lot of contributions to the forum, but I've been following Joomla's rapid development since day one. I use it in dozens of my projects and rely on it for making a living. I love the community that has sprung up around this project even more - so please don't take this the wrong way. I know you're excited. I am too. But I only have one thing to say to people who have the impatience to berrate the developers who work tirelessly (and tire-fully) ;) on such a great project:

Pipe down and leave them the hell alone.

As mentioend earlier, many of us on here depend on Joomla's solid design and dedication to quality and improvement. Do we really want to rush this? If the team wants to spend extra time (of their own) finding and stomping out bugs that are only going to mean a critical upgrade path to prevent our sites from being hacked, our data from being lost, or our clients from thinking we're a complete nitwits -  are you going to stand there, tap your foot impatiently and say:

"Hey, buddy! It's the 12th!! You said the 12th!! What the hell!?! Where's my free taste of thousands and thousands of unpaid man-hours worth of development? As a faceless, non-paying customer -- I DEMAND better treatment than this!!" - okay, that's a bit harsh. But is this example too far off in some instances?

Please. :) Let's keep our expectations in check. These guys are building something great and want to share it with everyone. Lets give them the time and respect to do it properly.

Oh and dev guys, I'm also a firm believer in the law of diminishing returns - go get some sleep!!

With love and respect for all your hard work,
Chris.

Well, technically, the release could happen at 11:59am GMT, on Friday, and it would still be on the 12th. For Honalulu.

Frankly, I'd rather get something that works on the 15th than something that is buggy and creates bad feeling about the development process on the 12th...

You don't really believe, that any developer is actually (at this certain moment) here in the forum? And for sure not reading this thread...so give the community the possibility to express theire feelings...

@Chris

If it is a stable release I am fully agreed with you. This is just a beta release to the community for debugging and nothing more. Are you always theatrical like this?

This was posted today.
By a core CB developer from good ole' Switzerland.

I'm all for sharing feelings too - but any kind of whining is not supportive and well, frankly, I imagine quite annoying.

Beat wrote:Hey guys, stop complaining. Who is paying the extra-hours the core team has put into Joomla all last nights and months :P ?

If you are watching svn progress, there are still tons of commits which are made these last hours, and if you look at bug-tracker:
http://forge.joomla.org/sf/tracker/do/l ... cker_1_1_x
you will see that there are still some weird bugs that need to be fixed before releasing.
Speaking *only* for myself, I prefer putting in a few extra-hours or days waiting or helping (i chose helping with CB team) for getting something usable than getting something unstable in time.

So please stop spending time complaining about your unpaid extra-hours of waiting, but put those to use for Joomla, helping get beta 1 right.

Dont take it negatively.

The fact that im waiting and that im expression my feelings of anticipation should be somewhat rewarding to the developers.  Knowing that something that they are working on is appreciated and users look forward to there future releases.

Hey, it even shows that we visit her regular and even known when the release date is.

Also I personally reckon that the release will prob be in another 12 hours if it is indeed on the 12th, otherwise it could be a week or so away.

Anyway - I don't feel anyone has been rude, demanding a release...

And that my friend is a very valid point. :)
As for the theatrics, not usually. Sorry about that.

But what is stopping impatient people from grabbing the latest from SVN right now?

Hooray for Switzerland! - I spent a year and a half working there in Geneva.
Beat's a core developer for Community Builder (another important project for me) and is involved in testing from what I can see.

Look guys, I'm just going to back off and let you use this space for whatever you want. I think this release is getting us uptight in different ways - me especially.

Cheers.

Well, then you know the "Röschtigraben" and that the most siwss-german's don't really like french (they speak/write much better english, although french is the main foreign language at school)...  ;)

well.. since I just jumped on the bandwagon with Joomla, (because php-nuke didn't work for me) I'm trying to decide if it's worth the wait for beta.  Since this is not an upgrade, I wanted to make sure my template will work with the new version ok. So far I've seen a few templates in 1.5 but they weren't tableless.

Moving to Joomla is deffiently worth it.

However i would ask you a few questions...

What purpose is the site?
Is it "proffesional" or for a buisness..
What sort of things did you have in phpnuke, that you are still after in joomla

Darn!  From reading this thread, it looks like Christmas is running late this year, maybe hours, maybe days.  That's OK, Santa has an entire world to take care of, and we understand.  However, if this goes another week, that would be like New Year's Day, and I'd be thinking I got coal in my stocking!  Le't see, was I naughty or nice this year...  :'(

Well, like most of us, he's a patient fellow, probably sitting near the fire at his big complex under the North Pole, regularly calling out to the IT Elves to keep checking if that Joomla! Beta has shown up yet! Like us all, he loves getting presents and unwrapping them to see all the goodies!
