Zoom gallery v/s Media Manager Uploads

Post by rjlevin11 » Thu Oct 19, 2006 1:48 pm

Do we need to upload images twice—once to media manager and once to Zoom Gallery—can we make the images in the zoom gallery scrollable (available from the media manager or other file directory so that they can be inserted into text).  I know I can use URLs to post images in the text but how difficult (and time consuming) is that, verses being able to scroll through the uploaded images in Media Manager.

If they need to uploaded one time... the images in Zoom Gallery would be larger than the ones used for contextual purposes.... There is a dimensions option under the appearance tab in the box that currently pops up when I click the add image icon (the one with the little tree in the the WysiWYG editor) -- should this not be used because of image distortion?  What is a suitable size range for ZOOM Gallery images?

Everything i have read says upload the images already downsized (say from 3MB to 500 KB or so)  but the difference in size of a zoom gallery pic and a media manager pic is not as great as the original difference between the original image size (3MB) and its uploaded size( ranging from 100 KB to 500 KB or so).  Can the image editor be used for this?
