hi,

is there a reason why the extension directory and the forum here use different logins/usernames ?
wouldn't it be easier and more convenient if one just had to remember one username for the joomla page?

Hi martinschm,

Basically its two different sites at two different subdomains. The forum is a separate SMF installation, and Joomla! Extensions Directory is a separate Joomla! installation. User accounts are not shared between these two sites.

You could register at both sites using same combination of username/password, then you only would need to remember one  8)

your explanation makes sense. from a user perspective i had expected to just have to have one user account for the whole webpage but i understand that it is probably a lot of effort for such a little improvement of the user experience.

one other thing, how do i at an extension to my favourites?
i read about it but can't find a button or link to do it.

never mind, i found it. for some reason the first extensions that i looked at didn't have the link but after reloading the page it showed up.
nice feature, i like it.

When you login at http://extensions.joomla.org and then view the individual extensions in detailed view, you will be able to add this to your favorites.
Just click the (Add as Favourite).
Edit: Great, you did find it while I was creating a screenshot.  :)
