Our church will be redesigning our website using Joomla very soon.  Are there any free extensions out there that would create a virtual library where our members could check out books (or our volunteer librarians could keep track of books that have been checked out from the church)?

I'm looking for something like this as well!

I've been looking for something like this where the nonprofit org can lend out media and equipment, much like a library. 

*No fees are charged
*Item pictures and descriptions
*Ability for borrowers to check availability then request an item via a form
*A real-time availability calendar would be absolutely fantastic, to allow potential borrowers to see when items are/will be available so they can submit requests for specific dates. 
*Info collected: identifying information about the borrower, desired & actual checkout dates and expected & actual return dates. 
*Confirmation emails sent to borrowers (with copy to librarian/manager) when system affirms availability (checks actual checkin date so it "knows" the item is really available).  Borrower prints and shows confirmation email to pick up the item.
*Librarian/manager can mark items checked out when lent out, then checked in when they are returned.

If I were more PHP-fluent I would try to create this but I am nowhere near proficient enough.  I can read and understand the code, I can tell what functions are being called and what the functions do, but I can't write the code myself - yet.

Anyone know of something that does this already?  I've searched and searched, but came up empty.  The book library component looked promising but I'm not sure it will work in Joomla 1.0.11 or 1.0.12 let alone 1.5.
