Error with the tools section of the extension

Hello

The reason for my post is that I think that there is an error with the tools section of the extension
directory.

1. I have more votes and reviews then some of the other tools in the tools category and I have a lower
ranking in the lineup.

2. The order of the User Reviews is not right it should be the latest to oldest reviews.
And even if it’s meant to be that way there is an error in the sort query because I have reviews
from June of 2006 then November 2006 then August of 2006.

If it’s old to newest it should be June, August, November.
But I think it should be newest to oldest November, August, and June.

My Extension is posted at:

Thanks
Brian

Hi jlabs,

Just checked and everything looks fine  ;)

1. The extensions is listed by rating (tex. decimal 4.85), and then by review.
2. With the newly introduced 'votes on reviews', you´ll see reviews that other users found useful to be listed first.

Cheers

Thanks for looking into it ot2sen.
I still feel that something’s not right but I’m not looking at code
or managing directory.  I’m not only saying this for my post but for others.

http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/

// higher ranking
Joomla SEF Patch 22 votes 21 reviews

ARTIO JoomSEF 52 votes 28 reviews

Thanks anyway it better then nothing.

Cheers
Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your feedback. As Ole mentioned, the extensions are ordered by the average rating received from users. Although not visible from the front-end, the value is correct to 2 decimal. In order to be ordered according to rating, an extension must have at least 5 votes, otherwise it will be ordered last.

This is the best way available to order the extensions fairly and we will probably increase the minimum votes requirement in the future to compensate the increasing number of users in JED.

Cheers,
