Add category Vertical Markets

I think it would be interesting to have a category called vertical markets to list  full applications.

at present complete applications are listed under miscellaneous.

It would give more credit to complete applications to have a top level category called vertical markets and underneath divide the markets by business sectors :
  • car dealers
    real estate
    classifieds ads
    yardsale
    roommates
    modeling
    dating
    ......

We developed several applications we would like to list but at present the categories do not really reflect the real use or the potential.

for example a Classified ad application includes the classified ad part + a shopping cart to pay for the ad + an image gallery to show the item.

Thus ideally, you would need to list it under 3 categories in the joomla extension site. it does not really makes sense.

The complete application answers a need in a specific market by providing a customised solution for this vertical market.

Mixing a plugin or module with a complete application composed of components, plugins and modules does not really help the search and identify solutions.

More and more , joomla users will want to find and identify an answer to their particular business model.  Thus being able to know immediately if there is a full fledged application answering a specific need would help the search.

Clearly identifying complete applications by having a distinct category would bring clarity to the solution proposed.

From my point of view your request has merit. The editors will have a chat about it.
