We have been Joomla-izing for two or three months now, and it is working quite well. No real problems with the site, but we would be happy to get any positive/negative feedback on what could be changed/tweaked. Our site is at:
http://www.preservationohio.orgWe're the 25 year-old statewide historic preservation organization in Ohio.
Ciao, and thanks,
Thomas/Preservation Ohio

I like your site Thomas.
A few suggestions would be to reduce the size of the picture of the day that loads on the main page (physical size is fine, just at 280KB+, it may be slow to load for some.
I would suggest you hide your actual email address in the contact section to help reduce spam that comes in to you.
Also - there appears to be errors when clicking on the font and screen width adjustments at the top right of the page. May want to check that (or remove it all togehter).
Other than this, i found it to be clean, professional and easy to navigate!
Keep it up!

To myself, special sites such as yours (those aimed at serving a selected "expected" visitor, are hard to comment on, given the connection required to make the site feel interesting. Mind you, that tends to be a dilemma we all face (sometimes we are too close to the subject matter) , but first glance, slow loading graphics was noticeable, but secondly, not being from your area, I did not delve past front page (does that say something)

The site looks professionally done, but is the "picture of the day" so important to go above the fold? I would move it to a lesser spot and place news and static text there instead.
Otherwise, I find the site's color scheme unusual and pleasant at the same time.

Just had a look. Not bad. I would probably default to 1024x768 however on screen size. There's not enough content to fill the screen. Maybe your users are still in 800x600 land however....
