The icon we see in our browserbar shouldn't be patched with this terrible looking joomla logo... thanks. 

You can always copy back your preferred favicon.ico from an archive or backup.

edit: didn't see it was in the Forge section.....

Not sure I understand the first post. Are you saything that you would like a clean Joomla icon in the browser URL area?
The icon there at present is the SourceForge icon.
