typos

Post by nathandiehl » Tue Dec 26, 2006 3:27 pm

i had done a bunch of proofing, but i hit a wrong button and *poof* it all disappeared...
Here is a bit for today:

http://help.joomla.org/content/view/1651/243/

second paragraph:
First question is - which version of Joomla! ?
should be 'Joomla!?'

Under Joomla! 1.0.x:
"Language files for the front end site can be found in many locations. See links below."
1. 'front end site' should be 'Front-end'
2. use of the word 'locations' is confusing because of the word 'localisation' elsewhere on the page.
3. There is only ONE link below, so i don't understand why it says 'many.'

Under Joomla! 1.5:
1. first paragraph, needs a comma after interface
2. first paragraph, 'front end site' should be 'Front-end.'
3. second paragrph, "The core release of Joomla! 1.5 is shipped with mutliple language choices in the installation but languages for the site and administration interfaces need to be added after installation. (Other than English)." This doesn't make sense to me, and probly not to an end user. It does come with multiple language choices or it doesn't? Also, (Other than English). is not a complete sentence and need to be inside the previous sentence.
4. third paragraph, need comma after administrator

EDIT: Add this one:
http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,65.0.html (forum rules)
last point is missing a comma after 'religious'

Hi Nathan,

I am uncertain who is actually managing these (3) Items at present there appears to have been no action with them since April/May 2006. They don't form a part of the current 1.0.x Help Screen review ( or 1.5 Help Screen programme as far as I know.).

I vaguely recall there is a fresh project/WG under consideration/way for the FAQ's but I know nothing more than that.

Sorry not to be much help,

Regards

Andy

Nathan, (and anyone else ;))

Thought more of this after a came offline last night...if you would like to assist with proof reading on updated Help Screens for 1.0.12 then please see these threads:

http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,121104.0.html

and

http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,115661.0.html

also detail of most recent amendments:

http://help.joomla.org/content/view/1901/265/

Chris Davenport has been a trooper so far but with - ultimately - 160+ screens of various sizes to review all assistance would be gratefully received.

PM me if any questions,

Regards

Andy
