How to Install Extensions

I think this would db very beneficial. I have no idea how to install them. I see options for installing mambots, modules, but no extensions. I need help really bad. I am new to Joomla, but have used CMS's before. The sooner I figure out Joomla, the sooner I move away from Drupal.
