Tried to download an extension from forge.joomla.org last night and today, but am getting no response.

The forge software was updated yesterday, which possible is the reason for not getting response.
Seems to be ok today.

I too have not been able to connect to Joomlaforge - the page sits and loads, and if I am able to connect then it says the site is down for maintenance. I've been checking for an hour.

Argh, the forge supplies such useful services too. If you need file releases there are usually a few of us who put up mirrors in times like this. Be sure to verify against the officially posted files hashes: http://www.joomla.org/content/view/2496/95/

nice service there lamad.. however, I wasn't able to find the plugin I was looking for - JCE Utilities Mambot 1.1.5.

I guess I'll have to wait for the forge to come back up.

for some reason it did allow me to download opensef about 10minutes ago. still says it's down, but it might be an idea to try the links to the component(s) anyway (occassional refresh never hurts). hope it's available soon, good luck to all

It appears that forge.joomla.org and developer.joomla.org's NS records are missing at this point.

I've been trying to reach the forge since yesterday, but without luck, I get timeouts. The same goes for developer.joomla.org

So the server itself doesn't seem to have any problem, but the service (apache?) have some serious issues!

None of the joomla.org sub domains (3rd level domains) have their own zones from what I can see. That is why they do not have their own NS records. They do have A records specified in joomla.org's zone which is completely sufficient and common. Notice that forum.joomla.org works fine.

All the problems experienced so far point to application issues. Notice snis' traceroute, obviously the network to the box and the network stack on the box are working fine. however, his wget shows the web server is chocking. further, i've noticed that web and svn will be down/slow at different times.

I'm trying to connect to my svn repository but to no avail, I wanted to do some coding, but I don't I will be able to now, please fix this, this is not good for 3rd party development, I'm really frustrated right now

what happens:
load times of just surfing the forge are tremendous
lots of time outs
can't connect to the svn (connection failed)

Not working for me either

Can ping forge.joomla.org, but does nothing when I try to connect.
Just the spinning circle in FireFox for ten minutes now.

How about setting up some mirrors of the forge etc. in Europe or other parts of the world so we all can get a "fair" chance of connections.

Very odd. I know the forge has been working since friday as the joomla weekly news has been downloaded 400+ times in that period from the forge link in my signature
