Inserting Streaming MP3's into an Article

I had a lot of trouble with this earlier, and finally figured out a simple and effective method to stream an MP3 file in an article.

The first step is to upload your .mp3 file to your server; make note of the URL of this file.

Open Notepad and enter this URL. Save the file as "filename.m3u," without the quotes or comma.

Upload this file to your server, as well. For organizational purposes, I find it easiest to place it in the same directory as the .mp3 file.

In the WYSIWYG editor (I'm using TinyMCE as my default editor, I can't say if this will work in others), click the "Embedded Media" icon. In the link to the file, insert the URL to the .m3u file, not the .mp3! Set the type as Quicktime, and fiddle with the other variables as you please.

The result will be a streaming .mp3. You can find an example of this at: http://www.thekaputmonster.com/index.ph ... 1&Itemid=1

Note: One thing that I've discovered, is that once you save/apply the changes to the file, the embedded media will disappear from the editor the next time you attempt to edit/save the article. Thus, it's a good idea to write the entire article and do all checking/improvements before you insert the embedded media. Simply save and exit the article once it's added, and it will work fine.
