Here is a link to our school website:

http://wellscsd.com

It is primarily a Joomla based website with other software "wrapped" into it:

    * Coppermine (Image gallery)
    * Squirrel Mail (web-based email)
    * Moodle

Our website serves as a communication platform and as a means of assessing our school technology plan. It is our "portfolio" as evidence of progress toward our goals and benchmarks.

Teachers, parents, and students can add content to the site subject to administrative approval. We are offering training--in person and through web-based video tutorials to allow them to submit increasingly complex content.

We are increasing multimedia content and experimenting with new varieties of multimedia content (podcasts, screenplays, etc.) as well as presentation on the web and integration with devices such as ipods and cell phones.

Thanks! I have really trying to work in the multimedia. The galleries embedded in the content items are created with Slideshow Pro and Slideshow Director. Slideshow Pro is a commercial Flash Extension. Director is a management component that resides on the server through which the photos, albums, and galleries are managed. Once you have uploaded the photos and configured the album or gallery, Director gives you an xml filepath to insert into flash. Once published and uploaded, I use JCE's media manager to inset the gallery in the content. They are reasonably priced and have liberal licensing terms.

The thing I am not happy with yet is the handling of mp3 files. I am looking for a more elegant player that is reasonably easy to use. Ideally, it would popup and handle mutiple playlists--yet be simple for end users to navigate. I will continue my hunt today!

Nice jobs you have done.  I guess I will pass such a good flash gallery since I haven't plan to take out some money for my non-profit student organization.  ;) ... I am cheap .. I know

Anyway, hopefully this is what you need, http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=Flash_MP3_Player
but you might need to integrated to joomla by yourself.
Have you check extension site yet.  I remember I saw a lot multimedia player before.
