Recently Updated Extensions

One section of the Joomla! Extensions Directory that I find particularly useful is the "Recently Updated" list. However, this list seems too short for me. When I look at the page now, the oldest item on the list is 19 hours old. This means that if I want to see all the updated items, I have to visit the site more than once a day.

Would it be possible to track several days worth of updates in this list?

I'm not sure exactly how different the results are but if you use the link at the top next to the number of extensions "Last updated today" it produces a paginated list

Brian,

Thanks for your reply. That link leads to "New Extensions", while I'm talking about "Updated Extensions". What I'd like to see is a paginated list, as is used on "New Extensions", for "Updated Extensions".

Hi rholton,

Could be that we need to adjust that list to contain more items. Thanks for your suggestion  :)

Btw. why not visit at least once a day - I know that we do  8)

so what about some rss delivering solution for updated items list to my thunderbird? i have mentioned that about half a year ago and mods told me would be implemented with some major changes on the extension directory soon. well if "soon" is not wihtin the next half year, then what is "late"??
don't want to sound pushy, but it gets harder and harder to keep track of all those great extensions listed there and a lot of potential is lost for extensions that are not so interesting due to some lacking featuresyet if i miss updates that actually implement what i needed at some point...
so please make our life a bit easier. how hard can it be to offer an RSS-Feed???

Simple answer, new functionality comes when it's ready. Sometimes this is fast with JED, sometimes it's not. Considering the amount of work that has been going into JED by Lee and the team in the last year, there's no way we're pressuring/promising anything.

I perfectly understand the "When it is ready" phrase, I just don't like hearing it that often... some communication on what actually is going to happen, what great new functionality takes so long and what is going on behind the scenes would be very interesting to the community as the request has already come up in a vast number of threads...

one of the  most important things fora raoring project like joomla forge is without a doubt staying up to date (only second to keeping that huge monster running smoothly of course ;) )

within half a year we will easily pass the 2000 extensions mark and this recently updated RSS feed with comment on why the extesniosn entry has been updated is probabyl one of the most important things to actually use joomla with all those great extensions effectively. It gets almost impossible to keep track for novice user I imagine and it already gets hard for me as a daily visitor...

The more information we give of things to come, the more expection levels will rise, the more "When is this coming!" threads (like yours) will be made on the forum. The Extension directory already has a lot of functionality, new functionality is 'nice to have'. For JED it's quite simple, it's ready when it's ready, and only then will an announcement be made.
