Email address validation too strict?

The brand new gForge server has a somewhat strict email checker. It doesn't allow for PLUS '+' character (like, for example  [email protected])

I use this format quite intensively to deliver various mailing lists to subfolders of my IMAP account, but had to give up for the registration to the new site.

Perhaps this is a suggestion that should be reported to the gForge developers...
