Problem with Joomla Text Editors

I don't know why but I am having major issues with the text editors in Joomla.  I'm a newbie and I'm still trying to figure out if I can truly convert our non-profit site to Joomla and have it run smoothly.  I know very little about scripting and the like so please pardon my ignorance.

I have installed Joomla! 1.0.11 Stable

I realize I should update but that's a lesson for another day :)

I have the basic TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor and the No Editor options available.  I had the TinyMCE selected but I can't use adding links, images or any other command that requires the text editor to open a separate window.  After much frustration I decided to try and upload a new editor bot and chose the JoomlaFCK but after uploading the latest version and installing it (publishing it and selecting it in global config and then saving)  I am left with no text box at all for text editing...

Ah me, I am frustrated.  If anyone can help or knows what's wrong I'd really, really appreciate help in solving this problem.

The site is: http://www.blossominternational.org/joom/index.php (please don't mind the chaos as I'm still figuring things out)

Thanks so much!

One thing to check is that your configuration.php has the "www" in the mos config livesite section.  If you have http://mywebsiteaddress.com/subfolder/etc
instead of http://www.mywebsiteaddress.com/subfolder/etc, it generally won't work.

And while you're at it... upgrade, it's easy! hehehe.  Lots of security and bug fixes in 12.

You fixed the problem!  Yay!  Thank you so much!  I just feel like a jerk for spending about 7 hours trying to fix it myself to no avail first.  :-[

Now about that upgrade...

Happens to a lot of people (and even me a few times before I wised up).  Pay me back by editing your first post to change the icon to "Solved"  ... It's a dropdown box that makes a checkmark.  Helps all the forum helpers know they don't need to address your problem, and people seeking help that this might be a thread with an answer.
