A student conference site on corporate social responsibility

A group of warm blooded law students organized a conference on Corporate Social Responsibility at the University of Ottawa, Canada. We had excellent student attendance and poor professional attendance. Oh well we learned for next time. Feedback would be appreciated because I will be making websites for other conferences in the future:

This was only the second website that I made. I tried to use lots of the joomla extensions. My favourite was the translation extension: at http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/.
The site is hosted on dreamhost. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on other affordable hosting sites that are a bit quicker?
