I have now added you to both the projects you had on Forge. Here's the mail that people received:
Migration Tutorial
All projects have been migrated from Forge to Joomlacode. Now we’re ready to get your projects published to the outside world again. Joomlacode is based on GForge, which is a different piece of software. This means the administrator backend is also somewhat different, and will take some time to get used to.
A small tip regarding browsers. It’s quite handy to use two browsers (Firefox and Internet Explorer for example) for this. Log into Joomlacode with your primary browser to do administration, and use a second browser for default public access (don’t login to Joomlacode). This way you can make changes with your primary browser, and check in your second browser if the settings are visible to the general public.
Below are a few small procedures to speed things up, and get you going as fast as possible. It looks like a lot of text, but this will be done in a few minutes.
Procedure: how to set your project visible to the public? To start with, your project is hidden to the outside world after migration. The reason for this, is that we don’t want projects that have no support to be visible to the outside world.
1. Log into Joomlacode with your account.
2. Go to the dropdown list which is called ‘Quick Jump To’.
3. Your can select your project(s) from here, which you have to do.
4. Click on the tab ‘Admin’.
5. Click on ‘Edit observer permissions’.
6. Set ‘Project-wide access’ to ‘Public’.
7. Click on ‘Save changes’.
Procedure: how to publish your files? The same is true for files in the Fire Release System (FRS). They aren’t visible to the public by default.
1. Go to
http://extensions.joomla.org.
2. Log into extensions site.
3. Under ‘User Menu’, click ‘My Page’.
4. Click the ‘Edit’ button next to the extention you want to change.
5. Change the ‘Project Homepage’ and ‘Download URL’ fields to their appropriate URLs.
6. Click Submit.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 for each project that you have. Select ‘Visible’ and ‘Released’ to release the file and make it public.
8. Click on ‘Save changes’ on the bottom of the screen.
9. Your files and packages are now ready to be downloaded by the public.
Procedure: how to change the project description? All projects have the same project description as in Forge, with one minor detail. For administrative purposes, we added Migration to start the project description. Here’s how to change it back again.
1. Log into Joomlacode with your account.
2. Go to the dropdown list which is called ‘Quick Jump To’.
3. Your can select your project(s) from here, which you have to do.
4. Click on the tab ‘Admin’.
5. Click on ‘Edit project description’.
6. Change the description to how you like it, and press ‘Update’.
Procedure: If your extension is published on http://extensions.joomla.org, the download link of your project has to be changed.1. Go to
http://extensions.joomla.org.
2. Login with your extensions directory user.
3. Click on ‘My Page’ under ‘User Menu’.
4. Click the ‘Edit’ button next to the extension you want changed.
5. Change the ‘Project Homepage’ and ‘Download URL’ fields to the new URL’s of your files or file package.
6. Click Submit.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 if you have multiple projects.
We’re waiting for the SVN backup made by VA. As soon as we receive this, we will migrate SVN to the projects as well.
