And we're rockin' now ...

The Barchetta is nice but I must say, I do like Louis' Goggomobil.

To everyone on involved in this last big push.  Congratulations.  I'm proud to be part of this amazing team.

Please note that Joomla 1.5 beta 2 is incompatible with Community Builder 1.0.2 (unlike Joomla 1.5 beta 1).

I just had to let go off my own work to test report my findings. Frontend and backend are both broken. That is a fact.

I also hear this won't be looked into for this release. This makes some ppl that worked so hard to bring compatibility between joomla 1.5b2 and CB 1.0.2 emotional. Mildly put.

Respect,
~Trail.

Trail, backend seems to work ok under legacy mode - send me a mail if you continue to have problems.

Note to everyone wanting to turn on "Legacy Mode".  It's a plugin.

Select "System" from the "- Select Type -" drop down.

Click the publish icon for the " System - Legacy".

Legacy mode is used when you want to install extensions written for version 1.0 until the authors have been able to rewrite them for the 1.5 framework.  Authors and users, please report any incompatibilities you find to the Q&T forum. (http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/board,199.0.html) - don't use this thread.  It's quite possible we missed a few little things.

Hope this helps some beta testers.

Yay!

It is soo great that Joomla! has come so far so quickly!
I am keenly awaiting the final release of Joomla 1.5 and some commercial 1.5 templates

Is Legacy Mode still in 1.5 Beta 2?

Cheers,
James

Uff - yes it was hard for all of us to keep quiet :).

Many thanks to all helped in this, not only development but also testing and the translations.

Now it is up to all of us with testing, testing and again testing.

Cheers

Alex

Congratulations Joomla Community, Core Developers, and everybody else who participated through the process. J1.5 is a wonderful framework with a great API. I have already been using it for some commercial projects and preaching about to everyone around me.

It is so much fun to develop using the new framework and API and I urge all the developers to give it a try and get the kind of experience I am talking about. I am already looking forward to the 1.5RC1 and 1.6

Joomla is the best! Forget the rest!  8)

confirming Trail's comments.

CB backend and frontend broken with Joomla 1.5 beta 2.

Installation work ok (in legacy mode).
No tabs appear in backend (js error).
No tabs or menus in frontend (also js error)
CB Login module no longer logs in.

Also agree with Trails hurt feelings ...

Well, it's an Italian name. (It's the diminutive form of "barca" = boat, so it means "small boat"). The Italian way to pronounce it is something like
"baar-kett-ah"

I saw it coming, she said -and wiped her glasses... as the language packs in the installer were updated yesterday.. must be for a good reason. Wow, 5 Mb download..? Is that fonts, libraries or what? Andrew, cool new picture of you!

Bug report: the link to "support us with a badge": http://dev.joomla.org/content/view/2335/100/ gives me a blank page?!

Sorry for trail and nant, I know you've collaborated and helped debugging 1.5 so far and it must hurt to see it not treating your baby well..

Onwards to stable now!
