Help for non profit template

My best friend started a non profit almost 2 years ago. She had no money and no resources for a website so
I volunteered to "figure it out". I am now on the board of directors, act as the web master (God help me!) and it is impossible to keep up the site alone. We want to switch to Joomla but need a template. I'm not a techie but I know my way around html and some css, but I have been up many nights till 1 am trying to figure out joomla design.

I NEED HELP. I went to joomlancers.com but I have $10 to my name and all bids were 30 plus. I have the template I want but we need a header graphic that fits. We know the colors and feel we want. Our current site really needs the boot but we have no loot! (that can be our jingle for this post). I feel like it should be so simple but I just can't figure it out!!! If anyone is willing to help that would be great! In a nutshell: we need a header graphic (simple, colors already picked out) and we need to put that header in the template we've downloaded. I feel like the village idiot. I'm so used to "figuring it out"!

By the way our current site is http://www.godlybusinesswomen.org
and the template loaded on http://www.godlybusinesswomen.org/index.php

We work with many Christian woman business owners. Link backs would be provided and we get 200 unique hits a month on average if that helps.

Hi there ~

What template have you downloaded? Is that all you need is a header graphic inserted into the template? If so, either post or send via private message a few more details and I might be able to help. If nothing else, I can get you started with the Joomla templating system - it's easier than you might think.

it is the "blue eye" template from Lady-Beetle.com
http://www.lady-beetle.com/joomla-templ ... e-eye.html

Yes I need a new header graphic but the header has to be created. So what we need is: create a suitable header graphic and then insert it. I have pics and ideas of how I want the header to be but we have no photoshop. I will try to downlad free trial to make a header. You can email me at [email protected]. For some reason I can not PM? not sure why.

Thank YOu foryour willingness to help out!

Hi again...

Ok, I think I can help in a couple of ways here; first, if you already have your header graphic, but just need it modified to fit the template, you can email it to [email protected] as an attachment. I can then download a copy of the template, recreate/modify your existing header, stick it in the template and then email the whole template zip back to you. (Expect it to take a couple of days though; the weather this weekend is looking prime for gardening.)

I also thought I'd suggest a piece of open source software called Gimp. It's as good as PhotoShop and free! See http://www.Gimp.org
