Hi I am not good doing templates or codings to be exact, there is no money to provide as well too since our church is small with only about 150 to 200 members.
I do have a template that I do like which is very simple.
A template like this site
http://www.clcbc.com/With our own choice of color and I will need to get a picture of our church do have a banner as wide as that as well too.
I like the neutral backgrounds that they used, the width of it as well too.
The colors instead of red we were thinking of either dark green, yellow or orange.
I will not be able to pull up some money if anyone is asking for it. All I am asking for is a simple template like that one. Once I find out if someone can help me then I will get a picture of our church and make it almost like that one on the site link I posted.
The name of our church is Weirton Alliance Church
Thank you
Angel

angel you are asking alot. The people here are usually willing to guide someone or make suggestions or even throw a couple of hours of work someones direction but you are asking for someone to spend 40-80 hours on a project. It is too much. Try one of the template sellers and see if there is something there that you like.
http://www.joomlashack.com and
http://www.rockettheme.com both have templates for very inexpensive. Install one of their templates and someone here might be willing to help install a picture or two... Besides if your church feels that the web is a valuable tool they should be able to scrap together the 30 or so bucks for a template...
Good luck!
M.

I understand that as well.
Like I said my husband and I both are putting it together and we are putting the site on our bandwidth and hosting so they church don't have to pay anything at all and will be purchasing the domain later on down the road.
I have found a tutorial on here how to make templates as well too. I am going to try it and see what I can come up with. If I can't then I will work on something to gather up money or something and offer it to someone.
I will post here if I have questions. I will check out the sites you posted too.

I have a few templates from rocket themes. I decided to go with one of them and changed it around a bit.
I searched on line for different christian churches to get ideas and all since this is going to be a surprize for our pastor and the church. but thank you for pointing everything out. Maybe he wants a custom one and we can raise some money.

sure. everyone has to start somewhere. But purchasing a template from someone and making slight changes to it is a WHOLE lot easier than creating one from scratch.
Glad you got squared away. And when you do get some money together keep me in mind ;-)

I will keep yours in mind. Who knows I may go ahead and purchase one for the church as a donation. Right now we need to get the site set up and going.
Now the theme I am using does not allow modules on the top or bottom center of the page and it does not have modules on the right either which is a bit hard but the template is nice.

I just redesigned our church website, using the colormatic rockettheme template. I can certainly understand your money situation, but trust me, if you are going to spend some money, this is well worth it. Maybe money that was going to be spent on something else can be delayed.
If you are an official non-profit organization, check around for discounts on webhosts. Some even offer free webhosting for non-profits.

You can also look at churchweb.com for assistance in the Church joomla arena.
Cost will always be a factor.
My Thoughts: Weh nyou do sometihng for free, therein lies the most comebacks or problems...
Rather oay a little $$ to make sure you get the quality you want.

Keep in mind that many web hosting services and Joomla template providers offer free services to non-profits. RocketTheme, which makes excellent Joomla templates, comes to mind. As I recall,
http://www.dreamhost.com offers free hosting for qualified non-profits; I am not sure if they include churches.
