Regardless of the browser, I have extreme difficulty logging in, even after repeated attempts, I'm returned to the login screen.

If by some chance I am successful, I can't stay logged in for longer than one click, I'm redirected to the login screen.

Yes, my browsers are using cookies etc.

Might be a wild guess, but have a look in the backend that all the directories that are supposed to be writeable are, and maybe install a DB maintenance component or use phpMyAdmin or whatever and check that the sessions table isn't busted in some way. Either can have undesirable consequences for session handling.

I have the same problem. I suspect it has something to do with being behind proxy servers.

I can't stay logged in to joomla too unless I check the remember me box.

i was behind a proxy server for about two years of my development time, and never had an issue.

are you guys all using 1.0.12? if i remember correctly, there were some bugs in earlier versions.

Anyway, I (and many others) will confirm the Joomla! login issue in 1.0.12, although I don't know if it has to do with a proxy.

i was talking about joomlacode too when I replied. Just drawing from my joomla experience, because the same login security might be applied?

For joomla, the reduced security mode for those behind proxy assumes that all the proxy ips are x.x.x.y where only y is different. This is not the case for my isp. The entire ip can be different.

Should I/We move this back to the joomlacode forum?
