Strange notification

Post by King7 » Fri Aug 26, 2005 6:52 pm

Today I got a email notification from OpenSourceMatters, regarding the Announcements board:

A new topic, 'Beta Mambo 4.5.3 Released', has been made on a board you are watching.

You can see it at
http://forum.opensourcematters.org/inde ... 87.new#new

More topics may be posted, but you won't receive more email notifications until you return to the board and read some of them.

Unsubscribe to new topics from this board by clicking here: http://forum.opensourcematters.org/inde ... ;board=8.0

Regards,
The OpenSourceMatters Team.

The strang thing is that there is no such topic in the Announcements board ???
The link gives an "missing or off limits" error  :-\

I'm puzzeled. Does anybody know what went wrong?

Hi,

Thanks for reporting, I will have a look into this. This is the second time I see this "missing or off limits" message.

A reason to need this?

When I went to register, it did take a couple days due to issues.

Hi rjs,

The issue has been sent to the board admin. Hopefully he knows what that missing/ off limits means. It is just the second time I see this.

Sounds like someone posted in that board and then moved the post out...

As I said, it looks like someone posted an announcement in the Announcements board, and then moved it out.

This message:

The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

Means the topic was either deleted, never existed, or that you cannot access it.  Since we know it once existed, it's reasonable to assume that it was posted and then moved or deleted.  This could have been a mirror of this announcement:

http://www.mamboserver.com/

But, really, that's just guessing.  We'll have to see how things work out.

Someone (non core dev) posted an announcement in the Official Announcement forum (I have since fixed up the permissions, so it can't happen again.) I had to move th topic.. sorry.. hence the link was bad.
