As pointed out on http://willy.boerland.com/myblog/joomla ... nking_down Joomla has two home pages, and two page ranks.  joomla.org has PR7, http://www.joomla.org has PR9.

Maybe we should follow the suggestion of implementing http://no-www.org?

Currently the www is just a CNAME, and as such we already fit Class A according to no-www.org.

Whilst this may coufuse a few people who keep a close eye on pagerank, what harm is the current setup doing?

While we are on the subject, we also have a PR8 here: http://www.joomla.org/component/option, ... /Itemid,1/

Well, first of all, cuz people are talking smack about us and we can't have that! ;)  But, really, of course, it makes no difference in the broad scheme of things.

Having said that, as a learner, I'm asking you - is the point for SEO enthusiasts that two page ranks actually diminish what could be one stronger page ranking?

I just made a change for the Class B example for one of my sites where there are two page ranks because of the "www" and no "www." The example they gave seems to work. I suppose it can't hurt?

Nothing to be done about the 8 - it's a different URL, plain and simple.

Thanks...Amy :)
