What is the next step?
We've gotten the tools section started with the ide working. Where do we go from here?
I think the outline looks great btw. I finally got a chance to look at it closely

According to chat tonight updated Jcode is right around the corner

Confirmed. Looks like tomorrow night I'll be one of the first to play with the shiny new toy!

Re: What is the next step?
I'll start a new post tonight. I want to see if we can get a group together and go through the installation so we can get things ramped up and keep people on the same page. Perhaps a project for the weekend.
If you're not a part of the solution, you're a part of the problem.
Re: What is the next step?
I think a weekend work group would be great.
If we can marry Jcode with the tutorial on the wiki for setting up the debugger and Xamp then we effectively have a group of people who can guide others through it.
I have snagit, screen and video capture so if we need to expand on the existing tutorial I can help.

I agree, a weekend group would be great. Only snafu is I'm not available on sunday until about 2:00 PM Pacific.
I think we should make a concerted effort to make J!Code work. It would be perfect if we could have our own IDE for J!.
I've thought about the screen cast. There's not much to see really. Mostly waiting for stuff to install. There would be some cli steps that may benifit from it. I actually started a screen cast and discovered that there's not much worth watching. May reconsider after seeing J!code work.

Re: What is the next step?
Agreed J code is something I'm willing to work with. I think once we're comfortable with the IDE setup, we'll see how things go after the run through.
I think once we're comfortable with that, we'll be ready to schedule an actual project group and work on a small app. I'd like to pick something that we can do easily, and spend time setting up the group and coming up with some regularly scheduled 'meetings' and see how it works. A pilot project of sorts. If we schedule particular times to get together, we can keep everyone on the same page and hopefully close to the same pace.
I'd say a group of 4 to start (perhaps 5) to participate (anyone can sit-in on things).
Something we can talk about more this weekend.

I am pretty stoked now if I can just convince my Boss he does not need to give me anything new to do for a couple weeks lol
