Learn Joomla in Person - Free Users Group Meeting in Chicago
Posted: Fri Sep 14, 2007 8:02 pm
Chicago Loop Meeting Place Locked & Loaded
(And it's free.)
Thank you to all those patient U.S. midwesterners (including one sign-up from Iowa) who have been biding their time until we locked and loaded a JoomlaChicago! location. It'll be a crisp, ONE-HOUR SESSION during the lunch hour, to get you in, on-target, and back to work. It promises to be high-energy, and very informative!
If you want to stay after to chat, no problem - we've got the room locked for another 30 minutes (till 1:30). This is a FREE User Group session, but you must register (sign-up coming at http://www.JoomlaChicago.com):
Date and Time:
Wednesday, November 14
Noon - 1:00 PM (stay for another 30 minutes - optional
Acquity Group
Meeting Room 1 - Thank you, Acquity Group, who is contributing the room.
500 West Madison St
Suite 2200
Chicago, IL
Lunch: Bring your own box lunch. There's a "Corner Bakery" downstairs in the main lobby, near the train station.
Dress: business casual
Internet Access: We have internet access in this room, which will hold up to 25 participants.
Limit: 25 participants
Agenda (tentative):
- Meet and Greet - lunch and introductions
- Joomla! Overview
- Latest News on the Street
- Showoff Session - see YOUR sites in action, online
- Profile - Dissect a site and figure out "How'd They Do That?"
- Wrap-up
We'll profile 2-3 major sites out there using Joomla! and dissect them from a creative, workflow, and a basic, "How'd They Do That?" standpoint.
500 West Madison is commonly known as either thr Ogilvie Station (formerly Northwestern Station). So for all those who need to commute, it's a quick trip down the Metra, with NO CAB NEEDED, to get there.
Building security requires that you pre-register for this session. To sign up for the JoomlaChicago! Group, and to keep in touch, I've registered the domain http://www.JoomlaChicago.com, and will be using Joomla to create a site to promote what's going on in the US midwest.
Cheers,
John Coonen
