Separate listing for 1.5 extensions in "Extensions" tab?

Not sure quite where to post this, but is there any chance that we could have a listing of just 1.5 extensions on the Extensions part of the Joomla.org site?  It is quite time consuming sifting through to find what options are available if you are trying to decide whether to use 1.0 or 1.5 for a new site, so some way of creating a separate list of those extensions that you can use now with 1.5 would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Frances

Hey Frances -

You can use the Advanced Search in the Extensions Directory to zone in on only those extensions where developers have indicated the software is ready for J! v 1.5.

Hope that helps!

Thanks - that narrows the field somewhat.  Though it would still be good to have them sorted into categories etc.  Perhaps a thought for the future as 1.5 gets underway.

Very exciting that using 1.5 is becoming a more feasible option!

Adding extension categories would be helpful. Maybe we ought to ask to have this thread moved into the Extensions forum. If the moderators agree, you'll be notified as to the new location of the thread.

It *is* very exciting to see Joomla! v 1.5 stablize and strengthen, I agree!

Thanks!
Amy :)

I completely agree with Templecloud's idea of having 1.5 extensions differentiated by category. Also, would it be possible to differentiate 1.0 extensions that can run in 1.5 using legacy mode verses extensions that can run natively on 1.5? That would be nice.  :)

What happens to extensions that run on both?

The current "1.5 indicator" does not distinguish between "native" v 1.5 extensions and those that require "legacy" mode. If it runs on both, it likely requires legacy mode. The point as I understand it is that it is not possible to determine the difference from the current listing.

But, in response to your question, if it runs on both, it will say 1.5 compatiable (if the developer tested it and updated the extension listing.)

Is that what you were asking? I might have misunderstood.

Thanks!
Amy :)

Thanks Amy but not quite what I was asking, I should ahve been more clear.

I am saying if you divide the JED into 1.0.x and 1.5  categories then which category do the 'both' extensions fit into?

Maybe a new thread? I don't believe that was what the poster was requesting. Just a way to slice and dice reporting a little finer.  ;)

Thanks!
