How can i create component

hai everybody
i am new with joomla.. i am using joomla-1.5RC...
i want to know how to create a component... wat file we have to put in component...anybody can exaplain me????...

If you visit the
Developer Site you will find a vast amount of documentation regarding the development process and examples of how to start, there is also the Joomla! Developer 101 Forum here and a book available.
You could also download a number of smaller current component, open the .zip files yourself locally and review their contents to get an idea of how they have been built, if you search the forums you will also find a high number of posts discussing this topic.
