I'm working on a component, and having a bit of an issue figuring out how to do the filtering.

Can anyone give me some direction on how to understand how it works so i can use it?

Basically I want to be able to filter on a predetermined set of things, like a dropdown menu, and then also to be able to pick how many to show.
