The recount of votes is a joke!
Forget who I am and the position I come from (And Amy, Please don't even respond - you will be ignored!) This thread is about factually incorrect information being presented as factual by the JED.
I understand there has been a false round down in votes since the publishing of the JED.
I understand that a recount has been made of all votes cast and the removal of votes cast from march until june 2006
An example Component - one I watch daily: Phil-a-form http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/
This component has had 55 votes, according to the stats today, and for a few weeks at least. Now the recount has been done it still states 55 votes - which must be incorrect because the star rating has gone down by 0.5 stars because of the removal of (assumed) good votes between march and june.
Therefore stating 3.5 stars is the result of 55 votes is factually incorrect.
On the Aug 2007 Phil-a-form had 4 stars from only 18 votes, which we can assume were quite good votes.
Those (approx) 18 votes have now been removed (According to the facts posted) and therefore the true vote number should be approx 37.
Furthermore, Older components are being hit harder by this. For example Phil-a-form was one of the first components placed on the JED and therefore received a flurry of votes in the early days (good and bad) and now not so many votes per month - meaning the odd one or two votes now are making the votes count where as the supporters of a product in its early days are now discounted.
Can we rely on the vote totals being changed to reflect this recount? or are we going to allow factually incorrect information to continue?
