Displaying sub-categories under catergories in own component

Hi,
In my own written component it is possible to create sub-categories.
But at this moment, all the categories are just displayed under eachother in the overview.
My question now is, how can I make the sub-categories appear under the main category?
Ex:
Main Cat 1
-- Sub Cat 11
-- Sub Cat 12
Main Cat 2
Main Cat 3
Main Cat 4
-- Sub Cat 41
-- Sub Cat 42
Hope that some one can help me!
BTW, it is for Joomla! 1.5 RC3
