Dispatcher events

Hi everyone,
i want to create a plugin that does some stuff after an article has been saved. is there any event related to that? i noticed an event called "onSave" but I tried it out and didnt get any results. i also did a search on the forums, and it seems like this kind of functionality will only be available in 1.6. any thoughts?
