Church Website looking for Custom ORIGINAL Template

I am trying to get my churches website finished, and I am not finding anything I am really liking for what I have in mind for the design and layout. Everything comes close but lacks in some area. I was wondering, because I am not even adequate with css...and have limited knowledge of html, if there is anyone out there who could offer some ORIGINAL - meaning - not typical template layouts and maybe even customize to a certain extent for what I want.

I have a limited budget, but am willing to pay for the customization because I feel it is a very important part of the functionality and appeal of the site.

Thank you for any help you can give.

Tim

Can you think of an example website that does what you consider "not typical"? It would be easier for folks to figure out if they can pull that off or not.

Basically if you you thru the portfolio at mychurchwebsite.com you have an idea of what I'm looking for. Basically something that works beyond the 'simple' box design, something a little more designer.

I hope that helps, not sure if I am explaining it well.

I have done numerous custom designs - but it tends to be time consuming, with the slicing and dicing (e.g., http://www.takeajourney.org, http://www.antiochchurch.cc and http://www.restorechurchandhome.org) - $1000 - $1500 for the custom look work.

I have also taken some nice templates and tweeked them for the churches' needs (e.g., with http://www.saintfrancisumc.org, I started with a template from youtheme.com) - still somewhat expensive depending on how much you want it changed.

Some places where I have found some nice templates are youtheme.com and joomlashack.com.

We are in the process of developing some new templates focused on churches, but are still 6-12 months from being ready to launch - we're still reengineering our own site (the cobbler's son has no shoes syndrome).

I'd be happy to discuss ideas/solutions with you - even if my company is not the right fit.

Removed, I don't want to come over as a total a-hole.

@conian7: I would be more then happy to do this for free when I have spare time. I will be quite busy securing and configuring our servers for now. If you want me to, I can start helping you out at the beginning of March. Please do include photos and/or other media you want me to include on your website. :D
