I am looking for an extension to manage our member database. We want it to :
1. Allow users to log-in and change their own contact information
2. Be able to add new fields to the information form (i.e. what type of member they are, whether they would like the newsletter by email or snail mail, etc.)
3. Be able to query the database and then export the data (i.e. to send a snail mailing to all the members, query for all active members, then export those names to create mailing labels)

Does anyone have suggestions on what would work for this?

I am the volunteer webmaster for the group.

I would start with Community Builder. It would take care of some of those request, maybe all of them. CB also has tons of extentions that may fulfill your needs. After that, I would check with some programmers / coders who know CB. I think creating something like this wouldnt be difficult.
