Options for major bug fix

Hi All,
A few days ago I submitted the VirtueMart AJAX Update extension, which provides a shortcut to updating VM products. I had 1000+ views, and was happy that I was helping people out. Only problem was, my testing environment was limited, and I released it with some of the database connectivity hard-coded.

I have since fixed this, and also migrated the module to Joomla 1.5. However, as I didn't take registration details before download, so there's no way to tell anyone of the fix, and everyone who used it first will assume it was broken for good. I'm just wondering what option would be best for the extension entry. I could add an addendum to the entry saying "Major bug fix", or remove and resubmit. I don't want to spam the new extension section, but I want to give all the first-day adopters another chance.

What are peoples' thoughts?

Hi Josh!

I think the best is that you add a note in the description text that your extension has undergone a major bug fix together with a note on your webpage. Hopefully the people who are interested in your extension keep an eye for updates :) . To remove and resubmit the extension isn't anything we recommend, unless the extension have been completely redesigned (like going from version 1.0 to version 2.0) or something similar.

Thanks for the advice.
I'll do as you suggested and hope that people keep an eye on it!
