From the notification email:

SMF 1.1 Release Candidate 2 is available!

Attention
While we are confident that there are no major problems with this release, we want to remind you that it is still not to be considered stable software. We do not recommend its use in "live" situations and if you are not comfortable with using this Release Candidate we advise you to wait until the release of the final version before using the 1.1 line.

Brad, this is still considered a live site right? :D

Let's hope all goes well, they really have fine tuned a lot of features. Keep up the good work maintaining the forums and thanks for the notice. ;)

Well SMF 1.1 RC1 was the same..

I have already tested this forum upgrade, so the only difference will be the larger database..

Yes, I think RC2 is less risky & buggy than RC1.  Although I've also been using RC1 in a production site and haven't seen any problems at all.
