Re: New International Forums
I see that it still isn't any Swedish forum here. I used to be a moderator at xbox-se.com during 2 years but had to stop because I felt that I hadn't time enought. I'm prepared to help the community so we get a good start.

How about renaming the Swedish forum to Scandinavian forum (and merge it with danish as well?).
I think that makes sense, since the Scandinavian languages (Swedish, Danish and Norwegian) are so similar that all 3 languages can coexist on the same subforum (like on the SMF forums)
A common forum for scandinavia would mean more users and activity.

I have posted on the Danish and Swedish forums to hear their thoughts on your suggestion.

It seems from the responses so far that this is not a popular idea.
I know that most scandinavians have some problem understanding the spoken language fron the other scandinavian languages, but the written languages are so similar I'm baffled by the negative responses to a joint scandinavian category.
But thats OK
No problem, but I think I'l frequent the main english categories rather than consentrating on a norwegian section with little activity.
(and if I'm feeling really adventurous, I might even respond to threads in the danish and swedish categories)

Re: New International Forums
I do suggest a Catalan language (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalan_language) forum.
Catalan community is pretty active on-line (check: http://wikipedia.org; it's up to 10000+ contributions)
I think jointly with the Spanish forum, we could get a fair number of contributors.

Due to the overwhelming response against the proposal, the forums will remain separated.
Anyway thanks for the suggestion.

I just need clarification.
Are you asking for a Norwegian Forum and offering to moderate it?
If so I would be happy to set one up, but I need clarification.

Re: New International Forums
it would be great if can have a chinese section, there's a huge amount of mambo users in china, hongkong, taiwan and singarpore.
i'm pretty new with mambo but have a long history of web design and developement, would like to be the moderator (unless there's someone better).

I'm a moderator on other FOSS project's forums. A moderator doesn't need to be an expert on a piece of software; that's a tech supporter
But you really need to know the rules of the forum and have the needed "moderator" capabilities to be hursh and firm but polite when needed to clam the spirits or to repreend someone.
Of course, knowledge of the subject is a plus
