Hello,

My email is flooded with notifications from here. How do you turn this off?

I need details because I've tried to change this in my profile and no I still get emails.

Click the link above for "Profile," then on that page find the link for Emails and Notifications and click that. Uncheck all the boxes in the top-most area and click "Save Settings."

Ok, I did that and seems to be working.

Why not make the option as a default for all member?

Because some of us like to receive notification???  Granted, while there's such a flurry of posts, it's a little "active", but in general, I really like receiving notification by email that a thread I'm watching/have responded to is seeing some action.

I personally set my email notification to give me the text of the post, so I often don't have to go check out the site in my browser if I am expecting an answer.

My 2 cents
