Help with organizing Notifications.

On the old board I had hundreds of posts organized in folders, which made it much easier to find answers for myself and others. I can't find any way to organize things here in my profile area. Am I missing something? How are others organizing related topics.

I don't think there is any default option to organize by folders with SMF. Perhaps Brad could hack it?

In VB there is an Edit Folders in the Subscribed Threads part of the User CP. Nothing fancy, but you can do a bit of basic sorting out of threads by content matter. Was that what you were getting at Frank?

You have to be careful with 3rd party hacks. A lot of them were designed to run on smaller forums than this one with considerably less load. I've installed some 3rd party hacks before with phpbb and the functionality/speed of the boards were seriously compromised. It is always good to do a quick check at what the actual "hack" does to the core, just in case it needs some reworking or minor tweaking.

Exactly. Basically as I read posts with working solutions to common problems I always subscribe (notify) to the post, even if I don't have an immediate need for the information. This saves a lot of time in helping others, or going back to find that solution for myself.
I'm still curious to know how others are keeping organized?

I store the reply emails in seperate folders in Outlook by topic matter. Once someone has replied to the thread I move it to the proper folder. It is more work intensive than having a built in system in the forums, but it does work in the short-term.
