Just out of curiosity: how can this component be N° 1 top rated component, when
(no files released as of 03.06.2006)
?
How can anyone rate something they can't have tested/used?
And why is it listed if no files are released, I thought that was requiered?
From the rules:
All extensions must be installable on the Joomla! platform.
No files, no installation...
Just wondering..

I agree. Our goal with the ext dir is to provide a one-stop for finding and installing these extensions. Since joomfish does not have an installable file available, I suggest we remove it from the directory until it does.
FYI, there is a development update here:

I agree with you both. All projects should have installable files, so that includes Joomfish.
We will have to add a rule to the rules for this, if I'm right.

Hey I wasn't voting for it
We will release a first Beta Sunday/Monday this week - at least this is the plan for now.
I depends a bit on how much snow will fall during the weekend and how much time it gives me develop.
We have already a version with the SVN which is downloadable. You can check this.
Cheers
Alex

Due to popular demand, we have unpublished the JoomFish site until it releases an extension ready for installation. As our friend has said, this will be in a day or two but just to be fair and follow our own rules...we'll wait until then to publish the site. Thanks!

Thanks gsbe, I was looking for the SVN link.
It looks like it is separated in 4 categories.

You can get to trunk directly at
http://scm.joomla.org/svn/repos/joomfish/trunkI'm testing it locally, looks very very nice. Even works with VirtueMart without any hacks.

Cool the hear code is ggod and release to be expected soon, the earlier this gets republished with a download, the better. 1.1 without the Fish would only be 1/2 the fun! And if we can have it for 1.0.9, even better
Thanks for the link, inglia

Then you probably don't have the rights to access it, I can get in just fine. Guess that you should wait until the beta is brought out.

The idea is the Joom!Fish to be available shortly after 1.0.9 - tests currently look OK, anyway we are working hard to make possible compability with all 3PDs.
Geraint added some extras like filters etc. So it looks promising.

Anyone happens to know if this would work with akocomments? (show only comments in english when site displayed in english..?)

How the component would understand if the comment is in English?
It can be done if the admin translates or sets manually the language of each comment made. Or even translate them. Otherwise it is impossible for the fish to understand on what language is the comment. Anyway I will check this with Alex and Geraint for further clearance.

Well, I'd say the lang flag is set by the users choice, and if then a comment is written, this could be used to insert the comment into the corresponding language only - supposing akocomments is multilang, which I don't know. Just seems like a logical expansion to only show english comments if site is set to english (apply to other langs..)
thanks

Hi,
I'm on a project and that will be translated in four languages and it happens that the translation files for Brazilian, French, Spanish needs to be syncronized to the English one
My doubt, how do I contribute my work to the project, even tough it was just a simple copy and paste, it's a start
Thanks
Maurício
