International Zone and Forum Language

Since we have the International Zone in this forum, would it not be a good idea to offer the users all available language files for SMF?

We have to face it that a lot of local users have problem with English understanding, and to make it easier for those it would be nice to give them the opportunity to chose their own language in the forum.

Or also we could make it possible for the local community's to be international supportsites, having their own forums - like phpBB (http://www.phpbb.com/support/intl.php), Zen Cart (http://www.zen-cart.com/modules/freecon ... .php?id=20) etc. has.

Of course we also now can make our own forums, but then we get two forums for the same language - and thats a bad idea.. ;)

Any ideas and meanings about this?

EDIT! The Norwegian language file: http://www.simplemachines.no/downloads/ ... _1_RC2.zip

Hi rued,

Having local language choise is possible already  ;)
Contact one of your local moderators so they can bring on the needed files to the forum admins.

Yes I know, but that was not really the problem. The problem is that it's not much in use.. ;)

The file is now linked to from my first post, so I guess it's OK soon for the Norwegian users.
But what about your Danish users, and others.. ;)

And also this question should be taken into consideration:

Your language pack has been installed. However I suggest you contact the Norwegian moderator so that he/she can translate the buttons we use on the forums. Otherwise things won't look quite right when selecting an international lnaguage.

Thank you Brad,
I guess our moderators will fix the buttons next week.  :)

I'll guess that I will be the moderator to translate the buttons.
Is there a list of images to translate some place?
