Not that i have a problem with that or anything, i want to know the actual reason for it to see if it's an ok reason and if i should use it on my forums.

Its because certain people dont want to allow refereal links, commercial advertising or the such in their signature.

Thanks Phil.
Commercial sites are allowed in signatures, however affiliate links are not. Having the literal link in a signature makes it easy to avoid affiliate links.

By commercial advertising I meant Images and Banners :-)
I remember getting told off ;-) for a signature like:
(P.S. I am NOT giving 90% off this weekend - its just an example)

Your signature never has the literal link to that site.. it was a href link. Technically there is nothing in the rules that prevents you using
http://www.deviantlogic.net/finger_insi ... _pussy.jpg as your sig... however I'd politely request that you don't, not that there is anything wrong with the content.. just the link implies a +18 picture is what you are linking to.
Hope you understand.
