Subscribing to extension updates

Hi,

I'm just wondering if there's a way to subscribe to certain extensions on the joomla site, so that when new versions are released I get emailed about them?

Thanks.

Michael.

Hi Michael,

No there is no such feature available in the Extensions Directory.

No worries. It would seem strange though why something like that isn't implemented, I'd personally see it as an absolute requirement for admins to stay up to date with extensions/modules, especially when we're reporting bugs and waiting on the fixes.

joomlaforge is cool because for extensions you use you can subscribe to the files that are downloaded.

Anyway, maybe one day...

Michael.

I too support that, like we have the same system for firefox & its extension.
Hope this is implemented in future.
Thanks

The software that runs the Extensions Directory does send an email to the Editorial Team letting us know about updates, reviews and other minutia from the directory. Unfortunately, there is not a system in place for regular users to do this. Part of the issue I would assume is that the editorial team receives ALL the updates, we can't simply subscribe to a particular extension's updates as you (and a few others) have asked for.

As you say, maybe someday. ;) As you have menioned, we have subscriptions at the J!Forge for now.
