I dont think its my internet connection but it does appear that every site from Joomla.org is taking its time it load.  Anyone else experiencing this?

Other sites are loading normally on the web but not this one...

I don't have any problems from germany

No problems in the US... well, the middle part of it anyway.

Noticed too, that sites have been slow today

Now it's good again, but it was more slowly. Especially after I cleaned my cache to check it out.

Next time you see this happening, please can you paste a traceroute so we can see when the connection is congested.

I started to experience that joomla.org was running slowly around 10pm Sunday Saturday evening CET. Yesterday everything was normal and when I woke up this morning the joomla.org was running slowly again (connected from home). It's still running slow from the office and I have done a traceroute from my office and from a server in the US.

I have used visualroute.com.

I had to resize and compress the jpg because of the 100 KB limit.

Edit: It was Saturday not Sunday.

But at the moment it takes more than 1 min to load the graphics on this board, using a 2Mbit connection

I have tweaked a few things, lets see if it makes any difference.

Is there any specific times that this is happening?  Like 2 AM Eastern Time?  Remember, backups occur at that time.

I just made a tweak to the backend MySQL server and to me, it seems noticeably faster.  How about you guys?

Dont thjink it was the backup tking place that caused the slowness as my teo different tracertoute with different connections indicated only a problem with one. does semm ok now though

Well, that was just for a short while - most of the time its extremely slow.

Other danish users started to report same problems now.

I think we may have tracked down the possible cause of these slow downs although we are going to need sometime to debug the issue a little further. We think the issue may be related to a conflict with the recent PHP rollback to 4.4.1 and the Alternative PHP Cache (APC) caching system installed on this server which helps with the traffic management.

The server is definitely not overloaded though because even at peak times it is running with about 30% CPU and about 1GB of RAM free and available for use. Things are not quite as simple unfortunately when dealing with a huge site such as Joomla, as we have got to ensure sure any configuration changes we make don't have any unpredicted side effects.

We will keep you updated as to any progress made on this

P.S. The site is flying along for me at the moment with no problems at all. The fact this issue is intermittent makes it a little trickier to resolve as well

How is the site working now?

It has really sped up for me. 

It's running like before the problems (=fast) 

Now that is what I call a real host. Not only on top of it and working towards the issues, but posting to let us all know that there is work being done to correct.
