New Account Confirmation for Joomla Forum is incomplete

Just thought you all would like to know that when Joomla (that is
http://www.joomla.com) sends out its new account confirmation via email, the link is not complete and does not include the userid or activation code (they are not part of the link) and you have to copy and paste the entire line into the address bar in order to confirm new account activation - this may not be obvious to some and is very confusing since you end up with a page that asks to resend activation code when the link is supposed to take care of that part for you.

When I signed up for a new account on Joomla.com the systems sent me an email with a link to activate my account. Well, the link is incomplete and does not include the 'User#' and 'Confirmation#' within the link itself, so when you click on the incomplete to activation/confirm your new account it takes you to a page that will resend the link again instead of confirming the new account.

This is what confuses me.
There is no such site
http://www.joomla.com, it will simply redirect to
http://www.joomla.orgProject Joomla! owns both domains
Further, there is NO ability to register for an account on
http://www.joomla.org

Soory, my faul there ... i meant
http://www.joomla.org and I was refering to the forums here is signed up for. I'll try this again ...
When I filled out the form for membership into THIS site I was sent an email to activate the account. Within this email was a link to click on that would verify the account I signed up for. However, this link was 'incomplete' (I'll explain in a second) and took me to a page to 'resend' the confirmation email all over again - this was NOT the correct page because my 'userid' and 'activation code' was not PART of the original link it was sent. In other words, my userid and activation code were on the same line but not 'within' the link.
In order to activate/confirm my account I had to copy and paste the entire line (including the userid and activation code) into my address bar of my browser myself - then I was sent to the correct page that 'confirmed' my new account.
I hope it helps because until I noticed that the link itself was missing the information I wasn't able to contribute to the forums.

Your report has been move to the proper forum
The Joomla! 1.0.x_Q&T forum you initally posted in is dedicated to bugs in the Project Joomla!
These Official support forums are powered by SMF - a totally different project.
Anyway hopefully the Forum Management Team can look into this for you

The behaviour you saw may be due to the way your email client/reader handled the activation email. Thanks for letting us know though.
