Need for CiviCRM subforum
Need for CiviCRM subforum
There is now a huge and unweildy civicrm thread underneath components. Would it ever be considered to just create a subforum for this? I know that there are many components that are very active, but this one seems to be particularly so and since they are cross-CMS (drupal and joomla!) and open source serving mainly the non profit world perhaps it could be an exception? I know that the possibility of a good Open Source CRM system is one thing that makes joomla very attractive to npos. Just a suggestion,

Re: Need for CiviCRM subforum
I would endorse and second erin's (mcsmom's suggestion). We actively support the joomla community within the joomla forum, and having our own sub-forum will allow us to create multiple threads rather than one humongous "mother-of-all-threads which we currently use to support *all* of CiviCRM joomla's needs :)

Re: Need for CiviCRM subforum
I would find a subforum on CiviCRM helpful, too. I rank this extension among Joomla's exceptional ones in terms of support, value, scope, and potential.

Re: Need for CiviCRM subforum
I agree that CiviCRM has so many different aspects to it that it needs its own subforum within the Components section!

I (part of the CiviCRM team) am willing to act as the moderator. (not sure what this entails, but i suspect its not a lot!)

Probably not compared to what you already do keeping track of the one huge thread!

@lobo
Being a moderator on a forum is indeed not too much work (with not too many new posts). A mod gets extra rights on the forum part he is moderating. This means that he can move posts, split threads, create a sticky thread, lock a thread, etc. This would indeed give you opportunities to split up the huge thread, for example.

Please check also the mainpart in the Integration Forum if you find more related Posts which could be moved to your subforum, have moved yesterday 2 but not sure if there are others.
Have fun
The "Humor, Fun and Games" forum has more than 2500 Posts, so why not build a "Humor, Fun and Games Working" Group?
